The Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union had their Regional Qualifier Tournaments Friday across the State.
In Region 1 top area finishers that will be moving on to the State Meet are Sheldon/South O’Brien’s Alyssa Schnoor who placed 2nd at 140 and Avery Ballis of Okoboji/HMS who placed 3rd at 140.
Lewis Central placed 1st as a team in Region 1. Okoboji/HMS was 14th and Sheldon/South O’Brien placed 19th.
The area girls Wrestlers moving on to the State Tournament from Region 2 include Spirit Lake Park’s Aroura Preston who placed 3rd at 100, GTRA’s Trista Guinn took 2nd at 110 with Emmetsburg’s Anika Stearns placing 4th, Spencer’s Kailee Spencer took 3rd at 115, Breanna Johnson of Spencer placed 4th at 120, Kyiah Logan of Spencer was 4th at 125, Shaylee Sutherland of Spencer placed 1st at 135, Spencer’s Leila Kollasch placed 3rd at 155, Kaylee Nachtigal took 2nd at 190, Nachtingal was happy to have a qualifying meet this year.
Spencer’s Olivia Huckfelt took 1st at 235 while Sioux Central’s Hannah Illg-Keith was 4th. Huckfelt was thrilled with the Tigers Performance.
Ridge View won the Tournament with 205.5 points, only 3.5 points ahead of Spencer in 2nd. Emmetsburg placed 13th, Sioux Central 15th, GTRA took 17th, and Spirit Lake Park was 20th.
