Titonka, IA (KICD)– A Titonka man has been charged following a Sunday incident that police say started with him impersonating law enforcement.
The Kossuth County Sheriff’s Office was called to a Titonka apartment complex around 7:30 Sunday morning to reports of a man reportedly causing problems and pounding on a door claiming to be police.
When officers arrived, 43-year-old Shawn Krug is said to have barricaded himself inside his apartment later throwing something out a window nearly hitting units outside.
Krug is accused of later hitting an officer in the face during a physical confrontation that also involved the use of a taser in attempt to control the situation.
He has been charged with impersonating a public official, interference with official acts, disorderly conduct, criminal mischief and two counts each of harassment and assault on a peace officer.
