Estherville, IA (KICD)– Trial dates have been set for two of three former Armstrong officials charged nearly three years ago following an in depth investigation.
Former Police Chief Craig Merril, Mayor Greg Buum and City Clerk Connie Thackery all had requests approved in January to be tried separately outside of Emmet County.
Online court records show Merril, who stands charged with 21 offenses including theft, ongoing criminal conduct and assault while displaying a dangerous weapon, will go in front of a jury starting June 4th in Clay County.
Buum faces nearly two dozen charges including theft and tampering with records will also stand trial in Spencer starting in October.
Thackery’s trial is yet to be set. She faces charges theft, ongoing criminal conduct and misconduct charges.
