Spencer, IA (KICD)–Two people are facing drug charges following a weekend traffic stop in Clay County
A deputy with the Clay County Sheriff’s Office initiated the stop late Friday morning on Spencer’s east Beltway on a vehicle allegedly driving recklessly.
While exiting is patrol vehicle the deputy reportedly observed a male driver switching places with a female occupant leading to further investigation and 44-year-old Jacob Longman of Estherville being found to be driving while suspended.
Further investigation led to Longman and 65-year-old Judy Laue of Graettinger being charged with possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia, reckless driving and multiple traffic violations. Longman was additionally charged with possession of marijuana. Both parties were taken to the Clay County jail and booked to await their initial court appearance.
