Jackson, MN (KICD)– Two people have been charged after allegedly leading police on a high-speed pursuit through Jackson County on Thursday.
It started when a trooper with the Minnesota State Patrol stopped a vehicle in Interstate 90 reportedly seen to be traveling at a high rate of speed, but when that trooper was getting out of his patrol car, the vehicle is said to have taken off leading to the pursuit.
The chase would continue for more than 20 miles reaching up to 120 miles per hour at times until the two occupants later fled on foot when their vehicle became stuck in a ditch.
The suspects, Demario Brown and Navell Morris were located a short time later and taken into custody. Both men have been charged with fleeing a peace officer by means other than a motor vehicle. Morris is additionally charged with fleeing a peace officer in a motor vehicle.
A search of the vehicle also reportedly revealed the presence of stolen catalytic converters which will be handled by law enforcement in South Dakota.
