Orange City, IA (KICD)– Two people have been charged with allegedly stealing from a Northwest Iowa railyard.
46-year-old David Case and 33-year-old Margaret Jakobson, both of Sibley, were taken into custody by the Sioux County Sheriff’s Office on Tuesday afternoon accused of stealing scrap metal from BNSF Railway property.
Further investigation revealed the pair planned to sell the stoeln railroad tie plates and steel stakes as scrap iron at a salvage business.
Both parties were taken to the Sioux County Jail and charged with second degree theft.
