Washta, IA (KICD)– One person was seriously hurt as a result of two semis colliding in Southern Cherokee County Tuesday afternoon.
The Iowa State Patrol responded to the scene near Washta around 2:15 where a southbound truck was determined to have failed to stop at a stop sign leading to the collision with and eastbound tanker truck..
The driver of the southbound semi, 73-year-old Bruce Lundt of Correctionville was airlifted to Mercy One Hospital. The tanker operator, 62-year-old Dale Wilson of Correctionville was taken to Cherokee Regional Medical Center.
The incident remains under investigation.
