Sioux Rapids, IA (KICD)– Two people were hurt when their motorcycle collided with a deer early Sunday morning in Southern Clay County.
Emergency crews were called to the 2000 mile of Highway 10 near Sioux Rapids around 12:20 where the motorcycle had been eastbound when the animal entered the roadway causing the bike to tip and dump both the driver and a passenger onto the roadway.
58-year-old Michael Cowell of Cornell and the unnamed passenger were both taken to Spencer Hospital with head injuries and various non-incapacitating injuries.
The Clay County Sheriff’s Office was assisted on scene by the Sioux Rapids and Peterson Fire Department and Spencer Ambulance.
