Des Moines, IA (KICD)– Two local community colleges have been awarded state grants to continue work based learning programs.

Iowa Lakes Community College and Northwest Iowa Community College are each receiving nearly 97 thousand dollars that will help host worksite tours, allow students to participate in STEM-related experiences and establish internships and skill development activities.

The awards on Thursday are part of 1.25 million dollars in state grants handed out to organizations across Iowa.
