Hinson, IA (KICD) — The unidentified driver of a stolen vehicle struck four other vehicles in around Hinton Saturday afternoon was taken to a Sioux City hospital and pronounced dead. The Plymouth County Sheriff’s department says the state medical examiner’s office in Des Moines is using forensics to come up with his name.
Around 1:30 Saturday afternoon the dispatch center received the report of a white male driving Northbound at a high rate of speed through town. The Gold Nissan Sentra – that was reported stolen from Sioux City just a few hours before – struck vehicles driven by a South Dakota woman and a Hull man that were stopped for a red light. From there he ran into vehicles driven by individuals from Remsen and Le Mars. A passenger in one of those vehicles was treated for minor injuries at the hospital in Orange City.
The stolen vehicle finally came to rest in the middle of the Highway 75 and C-60 intersection.
