Spencer, IA (KICD) — The consultant hired to recruit a new City Manager in Spencer met with council members by zoom Monday night. Brent Hinson says he’ll visit in person this week to solidify an accurate job description.

Hinson hopes to finalize documents at the city council meeting in July, advertise four weeks, and come back to the first council meeting in August with finalists.

Three panels made up of community leaders would interview each candidate before the council would meet to make a final decision.
Hinson recommends the city seek a candidate with a minimum of seven to ten years of experience and advertise a top range of 193 to 152 thousand dollars to get quality applicants.
