Spencer, IA (KICD)– New numbers released by the Iowa Department of Education show very positive signs for Spencer Community Schools when it comes to graduation rates.

Superintendent Terry Hemann tells KICD News the other piece of data that is released this time of year is the dropout rate which is also very good locally.

There are several factors that go into determining graduation rates like students moving away during their high school years and those maybe needing a little bit of extra time to reach the requirements to earn their diploma.

Hemann adds he is extremely proud of all of the students and staff within Spencer Community Schools seeing the bounce back that has occurred considering the interruptions and changes that had to be adapted to because of the pandemic.
