Des Moines, IA (KICD)– New numbers as far what farmers made off of various Iowa commodities in March have been released.
According to the USDA National Agricultural Statistics Service, the average price received by growers for corn last month was $4.43 per bushel which is four cents above the February price but $2.27 lower than March of last year.
Soybeans came in at $11.70 a bushel which is unchanged from last month and $3.20 lower year over year.
All hay prices in Iowa averaged $158.00 per ton, $11 lower than February and $25 lower than March of 2023. The alfalfa hay price, at $164.00, was also $11 lower than a month ago and $25 lower than last March.
The average price for milk was $19.10 per one hundred weight, a dime above the February price and $1.30 below March 2023.
