Spencer, IA (KICD)– A group of people dressed in purple will be seen in Spencer on Saturday to help bring awareness to finding a cure for Alzheimer’s Disease.
Abby Miesner is the manager for the Iowa Lakes walk. She says the morning will begin with registration at 8:30 leading up to a special program to recognize those who have or are currently fighting the disease.
This year is also a little bit different in that there have been some recent breakthroughs in treatment options that can be discussed.
The Iowa Lakes Walk to End Alzheimer’s will originate in East Leach Park. Those wanting to take part can register ahead of time at alz.org or wait until the day of the walk to sign-up.
