Spencer, IA (KICD)– A Spencer man is behind bars following an incident with police late Monday morning.
Officers were originally called to an apartment in the 900 block of 2nd Avenue West around 11:30 for a warrant check and during an arrest for probation violation 32-year-old Daniel Douglas allegedly fled on foot.
Douglas was stopped a short time later when he reportedly resisted arrest leading to police deploying a taser. During a subsequent altercation, Douglas was able to take the taser from the officer before he was eventually subdued and taken into custody.
Douglas was booked into the Clay County Jail on the outstanding warrant and further charged with disarming a police officer and interference with official acts. He remains in jail on ten thousand dollars bond.
