Lincoln, NE (KICD)– Many parts of the local area saw some much needed rain over the weekend, but the new moisture does not appear to have had much affect on drought condtions.

The latest Drough Monitor released Thursday morning shows no change in conditions from a week ago in the KICD broadcast area, but an area of D3 Extreme Drought in Western Iowa has shrunk and is now fully contained in part of Woodbury County.

Around the rest of the state, the only change since last Thursday is a section of Southwest Iowa going from abnormally dry to a moderate drought.

Overall, the entire state is stll considered to be drier than normal with 78 percent in some sort of drought which is down four percent from last week.
