Spencer, IA (KICD)– The Local Initiative for Networking and Collaboration for Behavioral Health is continuing spread the word on the availability of programs and resources for those helping others in the community.

Jill Barr is the Outreach Navigator for LINC in Clay County. She says the overall goal is to connect behavioral health providers with the tools they need to help their clients succeed.

Barr says a recent snapshot from the Iowa Department of Health and Human Services shows alcohol is the most commonly misused substance in Iowa which led to the formation of a partnership between LINC, Spencer Hospital and Rosecrance Jackson Centers for a special event on April 16th.

Data shows just over 100 Clay County residents sought substance use treatment in 2023 with more than 17 thousand being admitted across the state making it one of the highest rates in the nation.
