Spencer, IA (KICD)– We are now several weeks into the new year which is approaching the point where those who decided to eat healthier potentially start to struggle.

Darlene DeWitt is a Dietitian with Spencer Hospital. She says there are several reasons why we find changing our eating habits difficult.

DeWitt also has a series of tips to not only start healthy eating habits but also maintain them.

As far as simple steps to perhaps kick start eating healthier, DeWitt suggests changing what kind of bread a sandwich is on, switching to whole grain cereals and even trying a sugar free option on that morning coffee.
