Spencer, IA (KICD)– The holiday season is upon us which for many means our healthy eating habits are affected if not completely tossed out the window especially considering schedules are busier with no extra time in day.

Spencer Hospital Dietician Darlene DeWitt stopped by the KICD studios for our Weekly Health Update to talk tips to keep from losing our healthy habits that maybe have been built throughout the year. She says it all starts with finding ways to make food easier.

DeWitt says it is also important to keep ourselves accountable not only when it comes to food, but also maintaining physical activity during the holiday season.

Smart habits are also needed when it comes to those family gatherings or other social events especially when food is readily available at all times. To help combat this issue, DeWitt suggests taking time to look through all of the offerings before even starting to build a plate of goodies.
