Spencer, IA (KICD)– The week of April 24th is recognized at National Infant Immunization Week, a stretch of days aimed at making sure our youngest listeners are fully vaccinated and protected from disease.
Angel Smith from Clay County Public Health says it is important that young children not only get the vaccines they need but that they get them on time.
There has been an increase around nation when it comes to rates of vaccine hesitancy or refusals which may have at least partially been caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
In the local area, immunizations for children are available at clinics, pharmacies and public health agencies.
