Spencer, IA (KICD)– Every person has needed some sort of assistance from a nurse at some point in our lives and this week is an annual reminder and look into just some of what these highly trained professionals.

Mindy Sylvester leads the Abben Cancer Center at Spencer Hospital but is also one of the many Registered Nurses within the healthcare facility.

Fellow nurse and Foundation Director Sara Taylor adds that one of the perks of the profession is the versatility.

 

Nurse’s Week is celebrated annually in the first part of May to coincide with the birthday for Florence Nightingale who is credited as being the founder of modern nursing.
