Spencer, IA (KICD) — An eleven year employee at Spencer City Hall has accepted a position with the city of Pella. Mayor Steve Bomgaars understands Brian Weuve’s decision to move.

Weuve was hired in 2012 as Finance Director. Since then, his title has been expanded to include city clerk and assistant manager, and Bomgaars says he’s the defector IT director for the city.

Weuve served as acting city manager during a recent transition. The city council will try to hammer out a game-plan for replacing him at tonight’s committee of the whole meeting. Weuve’s last day will be sometime in August.
