Jackson, MN (KICD) — Strong winds over the weekend created a few issues in Southern Minnesota.
Both the Jackson and Lakefield fire departments had grass fires to contend with Saturday. One in Belmont Township required both departments. They were on the scene for about two and a half hours the first time and then Lakefield was paged back for another hour after it reignited. The county was placed under a burn-ban for the rest of the day.
Several trees were reported down on roadways and powerlines. A portion of Lakefield lost power about 3:00 Sunday afternoon and Jackson then had issues around 5:30.
