Spirit Lake, IA (KICD)– The Dickinson County Board of Supervisors got an update on the Red Rock Wind Energy project, formerly known as Tradewind, on Tuesday.

Invenergy’s Joe Crowley says there are still some unknowns for the project, including exactly which type of turbine is going to be used, but what is known is that it will cover portions of three local counties.

Crowley says this project is expected to have a positive impact on local communities in part by creating a number of jobs both during construction and on a permanent basis.

The Red Rock Wind Energy project is still in the early stages with permit applications expected to be submitted later this year and actual construction planed to be completed in 2025.
