Sioux City, Ia (KICD) – The Spencer Girls golf team went to Sioux City on Wednesday for a Tournament hosted by East High at the challenging Whispering Creek Golf Club.

Morgan Irvine and Meredith Baker paced not only the Tigers, but the field, each shooting an 80, 7 strokes ahead of the tie for 3rd between Hollie Peterson and Cora Eckhoff.  Irvine would win the tiebreaker, making her the medalist with Baker receiving the runner-up.

Spencer topped the field of 10 teams totaling 61 above Par.  Sioux City East shot an 87 above Par to take 2nd.

Spencer has not lost a dual or finished lower than 1st place in meets or tournaments this season.

The 349 at Whispering Creek is Spencer’s new 18-hole low, which will put them at 9th in Class 3A this season.
