Spencer, Ia (Northwest Iowa Now) – The 2025 Northwest Amateur wrapped up on Sunday at the Spencer Golf and Country Club.
Jackson Laven of Okoboji emerged as the 103rd Champion of the Northwest Am after coming from behind late to surpass his college teammate Axton Miller of Arthur.
Laven shot a 69 in the first round, 65 in the 2nd, 74 for his 3rd, and bounced back with a 68. The total put him at 12 below Par, with a hole 18 Birdy being the difference between him and Axton Miller in 2nd, who shot 11 below Par for the Tournament.
Miller went 66 in the first round, 67 in the 2nd, then 72 in the final 2 rounds.
In 3rd was Beau Petersen of Gretna, Nebraska. The Northern Illinois Husky was -8 on the Tournament, golfing 71 in round 1, 65 in round 2, 68 in round 3, then finished off with a 76 on Sunday afternoon.
Brian Allison of Norwalk was 4th with a 7 below Par. Allison went 68 in each of his first two rounds, a 69 on his 3rd, and 76 on his 4th.
Rounding out the top 5 was Maple Grove, Minnesota’s Kagan Kollar who was 6 below Par for the Tournament. Kollar had a 68 in round 1, followed by a round 2 68, then a round 3 71. His final round of play was a 74.
