Cherokee, IA (Northwestiowanow.com) — The Cherokee School Board would like to hire their new superintendent by the end of the month.
Consultant Art Sathoff with the Grundmeyer recruitment firm says they already have twelve, highly qualified applicants with another week to go.
128 community members filled out a survey on the attributes they would like to see in the new administrator, with holding himself accountable for actions, fostering a positive climate, and recruiting and keeping good educators on staff rising to the top of the list.
Current Superintendent Tom Ryherd leaves at the end of the school year to become Superintendent in Perry.
