OKOBOJI, IA (Northwestiowanow) – The Okoboji Bible Conference returns this Saturday, August 2, for its 91st year. The event offers a week of worship, teaching, music, and family-friendly programming.
Held at the Tabernacle on the corner of Highway 71 and Broadway, the conference runs through Friday, August 8. It features morning Bible hours, youth, children’s activities, and evening sessions with nationally recognized speakers and musicians.
The week kicks off Saturday night with a live concert at 7:15 p.m. featuring contemporary Christian artists, Steven and Hannah Musso. Executive Director Mark Schwarz says although the duo may be new to the area, they are well known in the contemporary Christian music scene.
Speakers throughout the week include Pastor Rick Porter, Brian Clark, New York Times bestselling author Preston Sprinkle, Allison Allen, and local pastor and former Hollywood actor James Runcorn. Morning sessions will be led by Dr. Juan Hernandez of Bethel University, with youth and children’s programming running daily starting at 10:30 a.m.
The conference is free to attend and open to all, with no registration required.
Schwarz says this year’s theme is Hope. Drawn from Romans 15:13, the entire week’s programming—from speaker topics to children’s ministry—has been shaped around it.
