Chatsworth, IA (NorthwestIowaNow) — The Iowa State Patrol says a Chicago man driving a freight truck through Plymouth County died when he struck a vehicle hauling grain.

The accident report says 28-year-old Mohammed Wajid was Northbound on county road K-18, drove through a stop sign and struck the Eastbound vehicle driven by 49-year-old Timothy Welken of Akron.

Wajid’s vehicle split in half with the frame going in the North ditch and cab in the South ditch. He was proncouned dead at the hospital.

Surrounding fields caught on fire and had to be put out by local responders.
