Mallard, IA (NorthwestIowaNow) — An Ames woman faces charges following an investigation into a suspicious vehicle and person in rural Palo Alto County.

According to the Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were called at approximately 3:36 p.m. on July 9 to the 4700 block of 460th Avenue regarding a report of a suspicious vehicle and individual.

Following an investigation, authorities arrested Sirena Leeanna Lindsay, 32, of Ames. Lindsay was charged with Operating While Intoxicated (OWI), First Offense, a serious misdemeanor, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, a simple misdemeanor.

Lindsay was transported to the Palo Alto County Jail, where she was held pending her initial appearance before a magistrate judge.

Authorities note that a criminal charge is merely an accusation, and Lindsay is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
