ARNOLDS PARK, IA (Northwestiowanow) – The 20th annual Iowa Water Conference will be held in the Iowa Great Lakes region for the first time ever.

The conference, organized by the Iowa Water Center at Iowa State University, will take place Sept. 16 and 17 at Historic Arnolds Park.

Iowa Water Center Research Administrator Laura Frescoln says the conference serves as a unique opportunity for stakeholders to work together on Iowa’s water challenges.

 

Frescoln says public health continues to be an increasingly important topic as research and testing methods improve.

 

 

In addition to keynote presentations and breakout sessions, attendees will have opportunities to participate in a conservation bus tour of the Iowa Great Lakes region and a guided kayak tour through Iowa Lakeside Laboratory.

New this year is a community track. Residents who may not want to attend the full technical conference will be able to participate in free community-focused sessions Thursday afternoon at the Maser Monarch Lodge.

Frescoln says community involvement is essential to protecting Iowa’s water resources.
