Spirit Lake, IA (Northwestiowanow.com) — A Montgomery man charged with Attempted Murder has pled guilty to a lesser charge in Dickinson County district court in an apparent deal with prosecutors.
19-year-old Caleb Crosby was apprehended by law enforcement in Osceola County on the evening of May 5th, after allegedly shooting his father at his father’s Montgomery home earlier in the day, then stealing two pickup trucks in an effort to flee.
Crosby was scheduled to go on trial October 15th. Online court documents indicate that he has now pled guilty to 1st degree willful injury. Sentencing is set for October 28th. He remains incarcerated at the Dickinson County jail in Spirit Lake.
