Ames, Ia (Northwest Iowa Now) – The IATC held their Boys Indoor Track and Field Championships on Thursday at Iowa State’s Leid Recreation Center in Ames. Here are top finishers from the area.
Okoboji’s Distance Medley Relay team of Netsch, Graves, Heimdal, and Osler won 2A with a time of 3:37.47. Spirit Lake took 7th at 3:44.12 with a team of Henrickson, Orpen, Reuter, and Hughes.
Sibley-Ocheyedan’s 4x800m Relay team of Kreykes, Poppen, Reiter, and Byers was 3rd in 1A.
Spirit Lake’s Cooper Winkel was 2nd in the 2A 60m Hurdles, clocking 8.32 with Okoboji’s Elijah Graves finishing 6th with 8.88 seconds.
In the 1A 800m Run, Sibley-Ocheyedan’s David Poppen took 4th, running 2:06.77.
Evan Osler of Okoboji was 3rd in the 2A 800m run with a time of 2:01.7. Just behind him at 2:01.78 was Spirit Lake’s Dietrich Dirks. Trigg Heimdal was 7th for Okoboji at 2:06.88.
The Okoboji Shuttle Hurdle Relay team of Heller, Graves, Pausley, and Jacobsen was 4th at 35.06 seconds.
For the Class 2A 3200m run, Brandon Hughes of Spirit Lake was 2nd with a time of 10:00.29 and his teammate Carter Trautman was 8th at 10:58.88.
Sibley-Ocheyedan’s 4x400m relay team of Kreykes, Marco, Reiter, and Poppen was 6th at 3:36.84.
Okoboji won the 2A 4x400m relay, setting a meet record at 3:29.33 with Osler, Graves, Heimdal, and Wright.
Peyton Meyer of Alta-Aurelia was 4th in the Long Jump at 19 feet 4.25 inches.
Carson Storey took 8th in 2A for Okoboji at 19 feet 8.5 inches.
In the Class 3A 60m Dash, Miles Robbins of Spencer was 8th with a time of 7.19 seconds.
The Spencer Shuttle Hurdle Relay team of Lovan, Hinkeldey, Pitts, and Steuben was 7th at 35.32 seconds in 3A.
Spencer’s 4x100m Relay team of Lauck, Robbins, Berends, and Pitts was 8th at 44.7 seconds.
Tate VonEhwegen of Spencer was 5th in the high jump at 6 feet 1 inch.
The Girls Championships would be on Friday.
The Alta-Aurelia 4x800m Relay team ran 10:38.24 to win the Class 1A Championship with a team of Berkland, Anderson, Peterson, and Peterson. West Bend-Mallard’s team of Fehr, Morey, Fehr, and Schupbach was 6th.
In the 1A 1500m Run, West Bend-Mallard’s Tyra Schupbach took 3rd with a time of 5:03.77.
For the Class 2A 60m Hurdles, Leah Bolluyt of Spirit Lake won with a time of 9.37 seconds.
West Bend-Mallard’s Maddie Fehr was 4th in the 60m Dash Finals with a time of 8.19 seconds.
In the 2A 60m Dash, Anthea Leupold of Spirit Lake finished 5th with a time of 8.07.
For the 1A 800m Run, Nora Peterson of Alta-Aurelia was 2nd with a time of 1:19.89, West Bend-Mallard’s Tyra Schupbach was 6th at 2:36.77, and Breyer Anderson was 7th for Alta-Aurelia, clocking 2:37.6.
Anthea Leupold of Spirit Lake was back in the top 8 for the 200m Dash in 2A with a 5th place time of 26.12 seconds.
In the 2A Shuttle Hurdle Relay, Spirit Lake’s team of Bolluyt, Duvall, Keenan, and Bolluyt was 5th with a time of 42.67 seconds.
For the 2A 4x100m Relay, Spirit Lake was 2nd with a time of 50.54, assembling a team of DeWild, Bruinsma, Bolluyt, and Leupold. Okoboji was 5th with a team of Avery, Meyer, DeVos, and Wells hitting 51.48 seconds.
Nora Peterson of Alta-Aurelia was 2nd in the 3000m Run with a time of 10.43.93 and Tyra Schupbach of West Bend-Mallard was 3rd with a time of 11:02.9.
In the 1A High Jump, it was West Bend-Mallard’s Allie Fehr taking 3rd with a mark of 5 feet 3 inches.
Rachel Schany would win the 2A High Jump with a height of 5 feet 6 inches, Anthea Leupold was 6th for Spirit Lake at 4 feet 11 inches, and her teammate Leah Bolluyt was 7th at the same height.
For the 2A Long Jump, Rachel Schaney of Emmetsburg was 7th with a leap of 16 ft 2.25in.
Lauren Travis of Spirit Lake would win the 2A Shot Put with a throw of 42 feet.
Mackenzie Harder of Storm Lake would take 5th in the 60m Dash with a time of 7.95 seconds.
Harder was back in the top 8 for the 200m Dash with a 5th place time of 26.1 seconds.
Storm Lake’s Silvia Kampbell ran a time of 11:17.08 in the 3a 3000m Dash to place 8th.
In the 3A High Jump, Lauren Stuckey of Spencer was in a tie for 6th with Ellie Nielsen of Williamsburg at a height of 5 feet 1 inch.
For the 3A Long Jump, Mackenzie Harder of Storm Lake was 2nd with a mark of 18 feet 4.75 inches and her teammate Avery DeHaan was 8th at 15 feet 5.25 inches.
