Sheldon, IA (northwestiowanow.com) — This weekend a Sioux City man was arrested on an O’Brien County warrant for second-degree theft.

Dalton Royce Goodman, 29, was arrested for allegedly stealing a 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee from a parking lot at a church in Sheldon, Sunday morning, August 23, 2020, according to the Sheldon Police Department.

Goodman was found in possession of the Jeep later that morning in Spencer, with the front license plate removed. Sheldon Police then recovered a stolen Ford truck near where the original theft of the Jeep happened. Spencer police then found property from the stolen Ford truck inside the Jeep.

An arrest warrant was issued on September 3, 2020, and on Saturday, March 8, 2025 at 3 a.m., Goodman was arrested with a warrant on second-degree theft charges, which includes stolen property valued from $1501 to $10,000.
