SPENCER, IA (Northwestiowanow) – Two Spencer men were arrested on drug charges Tuesday evening following a report of a burning vehicle.
At approximately 6:11 PM, Spencer Police responded to a call about a vehicle fire at 503 E 9th Street. Upon arrival, officers spoke with the homeowner and detected the odor of marijuana coming from the residence.
Police quickly secured a search warrant and conducted a search of the property. Inside, they discovered marijuana, methamphetamine, THC vape cartridges, drug paraphernalia, and a quantity of cash.
Kelly Frank Versluis, 56, of Spencer, was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver marijuana, failure to affix a drug tax stamp, possession of methamphetamine, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Gordon Leroy Foreman, 55, also of Spencer, was charged with third or subsequent offense possession of methamphetamine.
The Spencer Police Department received assistance from the Spencer Fire Department and the Clay County Sheriff’s Department.
