Storm Lake, IA – (Northwest Iowa Now) – The Buena Vista County Attorney’s Office has released its monthly court disposition report for February 2025, detailing the outcomes of indictable criminal cases.

There were fourteen convictions in February. Notable cases include one felony conviction for Dependent Adult Abuse, several aggravated misdemeanor convictions, including Assault with a Dangerous Weapon, Driving While Barred, and Failure to Comply with Sex Offender Registry, multiple serious misdemeanor convictions, including Assault, Harassment, Operating While Intoxicated, and Possession of Marijuana.  Deferred judgments were granted in cases involving Child Endangerment, Operating a Motor Vehicle without Owner’s Consent, and Theft.

The report clarifies that it only includes indictable offenses and leaves out simple misdemeanors, traffic violations, juvenile court, and mental health matters due to volume and confidentiality. Detailed information on sentencing terms can be obtained from the Clerk of Court.
