SPENCER, IA (Northwestiowanow) – The Center Against Abuse and Sexual Assault, or CAASA, is asking Clay County officials to reconsider funding support.

During Tuesday’s regular Board of Supervisors meeting, CAASA Executive Director Stephanie Henrich asked the board to reconsider a previously denied request for $7,000 in funding.

Henrich told supervisors the organization’s value extends beyond the number of clients it serves.

 

 

Henrich also told the board CAASA is facing significant financial pressure after reductions in state funding.

 

 

At the board’s request, Clay County Attorney Travis Johnson spoke about CAASA’s role in sexual abuse cases.

 

 

Supervisors said they would review the information presented and determine whether to revisit the request at a future meeting.
