SPENCER, IA (NorthwestIowaNow.com) —

As Spencer businesses and families continue their flood recovery, Centers Against Abuse and Sexual Assault, or CAASA, is doing the same, but needs help if they want to continue serving victims of sexual assault across 19 counties.

CAASA Director Stephanie Henrich says they lost virtually everything, including a brand-new truck purchased with a United Way endowment they had recently received.

The building on Grand Avenue also housed supplies to help CAASA clients, like food and furniture. In total, damage is estimated at over $500,000 and they are not using government funds to recover.

Henrich says to continue to serve 19 counties, including Clay County, they will need help.

Henrich is looking for donations of money and labor.
