SPENCER, IA (Northwestiowanow) – CAASA has received a $5,000 donation from the Clay County Attorney’s Office.
Clay County Attorney Travis Johnson directed the contribution to CAASA using funds recovered through delinquent fines and court fees.
CAASA Executive Director Stephanie Henrich says the donation will be used for client assistance and mileage costs for advocates responding to crisis situations throughout the county.
The Centers Against Abuse and Sexual Assault, or CAASA, serves 19 northwest Iowa counties and provides advocacy and support services for victims of sexual assault.
Henrich says demand for those services has increased significantly in recent years.
CAASA continues to operate with limited resources while dealing with growing demand and the lingering financial impact of the 2024 flood. Despite those challenges, Henrich says the organization remains committed to serving Clay County. Community members interested in supporting the organization can donate or volunteer through CAASA. Henrich says contributions such as the attorney’s office donation help ensure the agency can continue providing services to survivors across Clay County.
