Spirit Lake, IA (Northwest Iowa Now) — Iowa has the second highest rate of new cancer diagnoses in the United States, and rates are rising.
A lot of research is being done to determine why that is and what can be done about it. A number of organizations are hosting a series of public meetings to present county specific cancer information and address community concerns in each of Iowa’s 99 counties.
Dickinson County will have their online public meeting this Thursday, January 24th at 1pm. Representatives from the 99 Counties Project will share the latest data on the reports of new cancers and cancer deaths in Dickinson County.
Those interested in attending the hour-long online event can register at iowacancerconsortium.wildapricot.org.
