Alton, IA (Northwestiowanow.com) — A Sibley man has been cited in a traffic accident involving a farm tractor in Sioux County Friday morning.
The Sheriff’s department reports 30 year old Antonio Lopez was Northbound on Kennedy Avenue about four miles North of Alton, when his Mercury Mariner struck a John Deere tractor operated by 23 year old Frank Huber of Martin, South Dakota. Huber was Westbound on 410th Street and had the right-of-way at the uncontrolled intersection. The tractor rolled onto its top, but Huber received just minor injuries and declined medical treatment.
Lopez was charged with driving with a suspended license and failure to yield and was taken to the Sioux County Jail. His vehicle received an estimated 4 thousand dollars damage and the tractor received 75 thousand.
Hospers Fire and Ambulance assisted at the scene.
