Spencer, Iowa (NorthwestIowaNow.com) — Spencer Police Chief Mark Warburton reported a busy January at the Spencer City Council Meeting on Monday, February 2.
“Spencer police responded to 704 calls for service and performed 21 arrests. Also, our dispatch took a total of 1,701 total phone calls, of which 304 were 911 calls.”
In the community, Warburton says the DARE program is officially back in session with Officers Dickman and Kearney currently working with roughly 200 fifth grade students across the city to provide drug prevention education.
He also reported the Iowa Great Lakes Hiring Cooperative is shifting to a bi-annual testing schedule, so for anyone interested in becoming an officer of the law, the next testing dates are set for March 6th and 7th in Estherville. Currently Milford and Dickinson County Law Enforcement have openings.
