Estherville, IA (Northwestiowanow.com) — Emmet County Sheriff Justin Schultes says his department is consulting with the city of Armstrong about strengthening their city code that deals with animals.

Schultes says his department has handled numerous calls of dogs running at large, but now they appear to be killing farm animals.  The Sheriff says that since October Charles Doucet, Josh Gardner, and Samantha Murrillo have been charged for letting animals run loose; and Doucet and Gardner have been charged with exceeding the number of domesticated animals allowed on one property.

The Armstrong City Attorney and Emmet County Attorney are also working the case.
