Royal, IA (Northwestiowanow.com) — The Clay County Sheriff’s Department has charged a Greenville man will several violations following a traffic stop Friday after noon. 73 year old Patrick Shaughnessy was pulled over a mile West of Royal on 400th Street around 3:30pm. The deputy reported the smell of marijuana coming out of Shaughnessy’s vehicle. After a search he was charged with possession of pot and drug paraphernalia and also for having an open container of alcohol.
