SPENCER, IA (Northwestiowanow) – With less than 50 days until the Clay County Fair opens its gates for the 2025 season, fairgoers are encouraged to plan ahead and take advantage of early deals.

Clay County Fair Manager and CEO, Jason Brockshus, says there are many ways families can save money this year. He especially recommends purchasing tickets in advance.

Adult admission tickets are usually around $12 if purchased at the gate, but if you buy now, they are available for $9. If you have children 12 and under, they can get in free with the Spencer Chamber Nights promotion, where admission will be free for everyone after 7:30 p.m. daily.

The GoldStar Amusements Midway will once again bring rides to the fairgrounds. Adamce wristbands are available at a $5 dollar discount at $25. For a multi day trip, a VIP wristband offers unlimited rides for all nine days at the fair for $55.

There are also several special admission days planned. On Monday, September 8, veterans and active military members will receive free admission. Tuesday, September 9 is Senior Day, with admission just $8 for guests age 65 and older. And on Wednesday, September 10, all first responders including police, firefighters, EMTs, and nurses can attend the fair for free with valid ID.

For anyone still unsure about purchasing tickets early, Brockshus gives this message to indecisive fairgoers.
