Spencer, Iowa (NorthwestIowaNow.com) — Clay County drivers take note: there is a new way to track secondary road closures and detours.

County Engineer Cole Budach is reminding residents to sign up for the state’s digital Road Notification Tool. The system automatically pushes local construction and travel updates directly to the Iowa DOT 511 map.  The service is free and open to everyone. You can customize alerts for just Clay County, your specific commute, or the entire state.
