Spencer, Iowa (NorthwestIowaNow.com) — The Iowa State Patrol is telling motorists they will be watching us a little closer this weekend, and Officer Kevin Krull said safety is their priority.
Krull says law enforcement is stepping up seat-belt enforcement May 18th through the 31st.
Krull says troopers will remain actively on the lookout for impaired driving, distracted driving and excess speeding. But statistics prove seatbelt usage makes a difference in saving lives.
Click it or ticket campaign is part of the Governor’s Traffic Safety Bureau, and they are partnering with Doll Distributing to give away 1000 free ride vouchers. You can access them at the GTSB website and are intended to help travelers plan ahead and get home safely.
