Spencer, IA (Northwestiowanow.com) — The Patriotic fireworks are coming back to Spencer.
Blake Goss with the Spencer Chamber of Commerce says the fireworks will be shot off in the North lot of the Clay County Fair.
Pure Oldies 98.3 and 98.5 will be playing a Patriotic Medley to accompany the Spencer fireworks at 10, sponsored by Community State Bank, Flooring America, Go Gutters, Spencer Hy Vee, and A & W.
Several communities are celebrating July 3rd. The Spirit Lake Protective Association and city of Lake Park both have fireworks over their respective lakes Thursday night, and Village Northwest Unlimited in Sheldon has a full evening planned including food booths, games and inflatables, and a Fleetwood Mac cover band ahead of their fireworks display.
Storm Lake’s Star Spangled Spectacular features TWO days of activities on the 3rd and 4th all over town including a classic car parade, live music at several venues, and fireworks at 10pm Friday off the Chataqua Park jetty.
Armstrong also makes a day of it beginning at 7am July 4th with traditional activities like a soap box derby, parade, and fireman’s water fights, and fireworks at 10.
To many Midwesterners the 4th of July is synonymous with Okoboji – where the fireworks shoot off just after 10pm from the state pier. Thye live music at Preservation Plaza this year is Pet Rock.
And you can even catch a fireworks dispaly on July 5th this year in Greenville, after their car and motorcycle cruise-in earlier in the day.
