Spencer, IA (Northwestiowanow.com) — A flagman luckily escaped injury in a traffic accident in a construction zone Saturday morning.

32 year old Timothy Burd of Emmetsburg was Westbound on Highway 18 around 6:45 and stopped abruptly when he was surprised by the employee at the intersection of the Spencer beltline road. 37 year old Janeen Rochelle of Emmetsburg rearended the Burd vehicle.

There were no injuries. Burd was able to drive his vehicle away, the Rochelle vehicle had to be towed.
