Spencer, IA (Northwest Iowa Now) — Residents in Spencer that are still cleaning debris from their property – are still allowed to put flood-impacted items to the curb in the right-of-way for pick up by the city through August 2nd.

City officials will re-evaluate on a week to week basis what the debris removal need is, and determine how to handle it. A reminder, that only items that were directly implacted by the flood waters are eligible for pick-up. Citizens can also take debris to the transfer station, free of charge. You can reach the transfer station at 712-580-7270 with any questions. Hours are Monday-Friday 8am to 4pm; and Saturdays 8am to 1pm.

As of Sunday, the drop-off location at the Clay County Fairgrounds parking lot is now closed to the public.
